UK100

Who are UK100?

UK100’s primary purpose is to support a locally led rapid transition to Net Zero.

To accelerate action, they bring together the most influential leaders across the country to learn together and agree on priorities for legislative and regulatory change while empowering them to engage with national decision-makers.

Our partnership

UK100 and UK Power Networks have partnered to help local leaders and officers understand how to shape the changing energy system, as it shifts to renewables and a more distributed two-way flow of energy.

We work together to ensure that local authorities can shape the energy system to cater to their future needs, while also utilising new technologies which can save money, reduce emissions and benefit local communities.

Throughout 2024, we collaborated on multiple events and initiatives, culminating in the launch of the new Energy Toolkit “Navigating the Net Zero Energy Transition”, designed to provide elected leaders, cabinet members and officers actionable steps to reach their Net Zero ambitions.

We’re continuing our partnership through 2025, finding new ways to provide meaningful, practical resources to local authorities.

We are proud to be one of the sponsors of UK100’s latest report "Beyond Targets: The Wider Benefits of Climate Action" that was published in June 2025. By sponsoring this report, we are showing our committing on supporting a clean energy future powered by local action.

Beyond Targets

As we mark the halfway point to many local and combined authorities’ 2030 climate targets and 25 years from the national 2050 deadline, UK100 is exploring how we move beyond targets.

The Energy Toolkit

UK Power Networks Distribution System Operator (DSO) and UK100 have partnered to deliver a toolkit that provides local authorities practical steps towards energy transition.
