If you're installing low carbon technology (LCT) for projects such as connecting a housing estate, large commercial building, or building a charging hub (all at 70k VA or higher), you may need a new electricity connection or an upgrade to an existing one. You can request this on our Connections Application Portal. 

If you are considering installing large scale equipment to generate or store electricity, we’re here to help. This can include projects such as wind turbines, solar panels, hydrogen, batteries or combined heat and power units. 

The NIUM shows the approximate locations and key details of our overhead network (lines, poles and towers), substations (grid, primary and secondary) and where existing demand or generation connections are in place, to provide transparency and enable initial investigations to self-serve.
